Services
Copywriting. Editing. Proofing.
I provide editorial services to financial services organizations (and others), primarily copywriting, proofing and editing. I've worked across a range of media, including print, web, and moving image and on a diverse array of projects: from delivering a post-conference magazine on captive insurance, to writing ad copy for a professional services firm, to re-writing articles for magazine publication, to writing press releases in support of survey findings to developing text for rolling demos. I also design and deliver the odd, tailored, media training session.
About me
I've been working in financial services since my career began as an investment banker with Wachovia Securities (now Wells Fargo Advisors). I’ve worked both in-house and agency side in PR and media relations covering banking (investment and retail), investment management (traditional funds and alternatives), insurance (general and life), and financial services technology. I’ve designed, developed and delivered PR and media relations programs for some of the world’s largest organizations, as well as for several smaller and more niche companies; some rolling programs, some event-specific like FundForum, Hedgestock and Sibos.
Current clients and/or previous employers include, among others: Wachovia (now Wells Fargo), KPMG, Accenture, RBS, ABN AMRO (now RBS), J.P. Morgan, Pershing, KPMG in the Cayman Islands, RICS, Newsquest Specialist Media, Sophis (now Misys) and Neonet (an ORC Group company).
Why a blue pencil?
Teachers use a red pen, editors use a blue one, and it’s usually a pencil. Blue in particular as these markings on a proof generally won’t show up in reproduction. Don’t worry, the blue pencil will stay firmly in the pocket – ‘track changes’ is about as harsh as it gets.
